I am going on record to state that I began this blog to talk about faith, family and how God can enable us to live a better life. I have been a Christian since my early teenage years and like many have strayed at times, got real close at times, been part time, went to church, did not go to church and everything in between, However, through all of that I never lost faith or wavered from my belief that God is real and Jesus is my savior. With this said and the recent events that have occurred in my life I now plan to get back to Gods word, do his will in my life and share his word to inspire, motivate and hopefully offer my readers hope of Gods grace, mercy and will to be in our daily life's. This blog is called Heavenly Notices because of a miracle I received in September of 2020.
I was a dead man walking and my mom came to me in a dream and told me things I needed to go get checked and was 100 percent correct. That was not coincidental or made up. It was a true miracle and I talk about it in a previous blog titled Miracle on Old Town Road. You can read it by browsing my blog. That event, miracle and heavenly notice completely set me on a new path in life, saved a dying man and opened up things for me spiritually I never could imagine.
Today I am beginning a series of blog post about faith, God word and how it can give us strength and guidance in life. As I was doing my research and reading about failure and setbacks that people face and how they overcome them. I read the bible verse at the bottom of todays post from Romans and it tells us that failure makes us stronger, failure makes us tougher and failure is part of the process. What we do with these setbacks, failures, issues, health problems, financial problems, relationship problems and work issues defines us as either a quitter or an overcomer.
I have seen it many times in people I know, in my students, family, friends and strangers. We all can go one of two ways when life knocks us down and beats us up a bit. We can face it head on, attack with all out energy and overcome. On the flipside we can roll over, give up and just quit. Quitting is becoming an issue with our younger generation when it gets tough on them. I see all these college athletes quitting programs and moving to another because they are sitting on the bench, are a backup, do not like the coach and all the other excuses they make.
I see kids quit school because it is not always easy. I see people walk away from long time relationships because things got tough or are not as good as they used to be. I see people quit on their family and friends because things are not hunky dory at the time. I see people just plain rollover and give up after getting hooked on dope, sex, criminal activity and other sinful activity. God wants us to be able to endure tough times in life and be an overcomer. He wants us to have faith, hope and battle through the issues thrown at us as humans. I honestly think that many people give up because it is either a learned habit, the easy way out or they just do not have the faith to continue the fight. This verse in the bible has so many motivational words that we need to cling to when things get bad.
First of all, we need to know that God is with us through these events and we should rejoice that he offers us strength and grace during these times as well as the good times. We must know that suffering makes us stronger and builds our character. How we react to life events often defines who we are as a person. We must have hope in tough times and not be shamed. Lastly, we must know that God loves us more than anyone or anything ever could. He has the best planned for us and knew us before we were born. When things get hard, get tough and start whooping us around we must fight back and not quit. We must remember always that God promised that he would pour love, grace, mercy and forgiveness into our hearts and we must return it by accepting his gifts and using them as fuel to be an overcomer when it gets hard.
You get knocked down, you get back up. You get sucker punched by life, you stand your ground. You hit your back, you fight off of it. You feel like your done, you look inside yourself and find the energy to keep battling. God battles for us and we have to battle for him. God battles with us, so we have to battle with him. I pray Gods grace, mercy and strength for you now and forever.
God Bless!
Romans 5:3-5, More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
